Aspen Getaway

Design   Although a simple 1960’s-built condo, the superb ski-on, ski-off location and the mountain views were determining factors in the purchase of this property.  Radical changes were required to improve both the living space and the interior connections to the outdoors. 
The renovation consisted of strategic window changes for light and views, reworked circulation patterns and improved room layouts, especially in the kitchen and baths.

Build   While a vacation home is a relaxing getaway for its owners, as a build project, it is anything but that.  Dealing long distance with local subcontractors raises the bar on good organization and communication. 
Using the internet, Cheryl was able to complete this project while living a continent away.

Furnish   Cheryl created an enviable atmosphere of comfort and relaxation.  The interior furnishings were custom designed, inspired by the condo’s mountainside setting.  Cheryl used rugged outdoor materials such as reclaimed timber panelling, Colorado stone and concrete.  
By mixing these materials with old pewter, horn, washed linen, earth pigments and antique ceramics, the space became rich and sophisticated.
